Bio: Years Teaching: 18 years in education Why I Teach: I am an educator because I believe in children—all children. I love learning and I want to help children experience joy in learning. I believe they all can learn and I believe they all deserve teachers that understand their need to experience the joy in learning, to feel physically and emotionally safe at school, and to connect with an adult who will look beyond who they appear to be and see who can they can become. Hobbies: Reading, taking walks, and spending time with my family STEM is... an interdisciplinary and problem-based approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are combined with real-world issues allowing students to make connections between school, community, work, and the global world. Students work collaboratively to solve real-world problems, develop problem-solving skills, and help them develop into creative, critical thinkers with the ability to compete in the new world economy.
