In partnership with our community, Northridge Elementary is committed to ensuring every student achieves at high levels and has every opportunity for success. To support this vision, we provide a wide range of learning experiences designed to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.
Instruction at Northridge is enriched through the purposeful integration of instructional technology to enhance and support student learning. We offer targeted intervention and enrichment based on individual student needs, including Gifted and Talented programming, MTSS, Special Education services, and flexible instructional groupings. Each grade level has a dedicated daily intervention time during which classroom teachers, academic interventionists, special educators, and our English Language Development (ELD) teacher collaborate to provide focused small-group instruction.
Northridge Elementary is proud to offer a biliteracy program in grades K–3, where bilingual classroom teachers use a student’s home language as a transitional “bridge” to English, with the primary objective of developing English literacy proficiency. In addition, a full-time ELD teacher supports multilingual learners across all grade levels.
Northridge teachers embrace innovative, research-based instructional practices across the curriculum, including explicit instruction, retrieval practices, Thinking Maps, cooperative learning structures, and Design Thinking. Ongoing professional development for all staff ensures these practices are implemented effectively in support of student success.
